Addressing carbon in the built environment and working to combat climate change is no longer a choice but an obligation. We combine a passion for the planet with smart business and design strategies to positively impact our clients' carbon footprint and their bottom line. 

Our team includes experts in engineering, computational design, business management and sustainability. Working collaboratively with design teams, we tackle complex and high-performance standards and optimize the impacts of energy, water, carbon, and an organization's ecosystem to ensure the performance of business, buildings and people align.  Our Design Performance services include sustainability consulting, performance analytics and materials consulting.

ZeroGuide allows architects and designers to analyze and estimate the carbon equivalent of emissions associated with all aspects of the project. It gives an overall picture of how key decisions made at early stages of design can impact the project's total carbon use.

The use of predictive analytics, like seen here for Samsung's headquarters, can estimate the number of social interactions an employee is likely to have throughout the day.

-With this expressive simulation, we study Spontaneous interactions between employees that can increase innovation within a company.  
-This tool allows decisions makers to study how people working at Samsung would occupy the space, how much potential for visual connection there was throughout the day, and how many calories each individual might burn 
- By designing a space that fosters these interactions the designers can improve the potential for innovation of their client
- Spontaneous interactions are most likely to occur when employees cross each other's paths or can easily see each other.The tool makes assumptions about how employees will use the space and simulates a full day for each employee, specifically looking at unobstructed sightlines – blue are on the same floor, red are on different floors
-By comparing the results of multiple studies decision makers can quickly understand the impact of building form on employee innovation.

Design computation tools are frequently used throughout our projects, including here on the Amazon Spheres to optimize the energy performance of the building as well as daylight for plant lighting energy and plant health.

SDA (Spatial Daylight Autonomy) measures the percent of the floorplate above 300 lux for more than 50% of the year.

What we see has a large impact on our health, well-being and satisfaction. This tool helps designers to understand and quantify the views in their project
