Environmental graphic designer Yusuke Ito embodies this spirit, approaching every project with a sense of wonder and a habit of asking “what if?” and “why?” The result is work that infuses architectural spaces with imagination, surprise and moments of discovery.

At NBBJ, we believe meaningful design begins with empathy—listening closely to culture, context and the stories embedded in place. That belief comes to life in the work of architect Brian Uyesugi, whose approach is shaped by his upbringing in Hawaii and a deep reverence for materiality and landscape. Drawing on natural surroundings and local narratives, Brian creates architecture that reflects optimism, respect and lasting impact.
