Nationwide Children’s Hospital Livingston Ambulatory Care Center
Ambulatory care clinics, especially those dedicated to young children and teens, should project a welcoming and positive atmosphere, but their campuses are often insulated and compressed. The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Livingston Ambulatory Care Center focuses its program and design to create positive, family-centered experiences and promote health and wellness for both children and their families.
The team leveraged the existing facility’s flexible design to standardize clinic modules and bring multi-disciplinary teams together in ways not possible in the clinic’s previous configuration. This increased collaboration is achieved through robust care team space that is central to each module. Primary care clinics are able to collaborate with behavioral health clinics for the same age ranges and specialty clinics cater to medically complex children as well as a large immigrant population.
Features
The public face of the building includes a concourse and circulation along the eastern edge at all levels. This brings natural light to all waiting areas and the views to the arrival court and gardens help orient patients and visitors.
