Meridian Center for Health
Housing uncertainty, limited access to healthy food and lack of insurance are just some of the factors that can lead to negative health outcomes for marginalized communities. By unifying healthcare and human services under one roof, and focusing on treating “the whole person,” the Meridian Center for Health introduces comprehensive care for the first time to an underserved, low-income area of North Seattle.
The center supports more than just healthcare, with space for community resources such as housing placement and job training, conference centers for community meetings or nutrition and cooking classes, and public spaces for farmers’ markets, connecting the building to the neighborhood and making healthcare a less daunting part of daily life.
Features
The airy, expansive main lobby serves as a welcoming hub for the rest of the clinic. The dramatic feature stair encourages people to be more active when walking between floors.
