Hana Bank Headquarters
Seoul, South Korea
A connection to nature is deeply embedded in Korean culture—a reverence that remains relevant as academic research continues to confirm the positive impact nature has on people’s health, well-being and productivity. The landscape of Korean fintech company Hana Bank’s headquarters builds on an appreciation of nature, both past and present, through biophilic design that blurs architecture, site and structure.
Flowing ribbons of pathways, plantings, plazas and interactive sculptures extend from the existing landscape, creating a multi-layered experience of sweeping textures and forms. Anchored by a plunging sunken garden and soaring rampway, an infinite park emanates from the landscape, weaving back and forth up the building facade and flowing into and through the interior spaces along the way.
