F5 Tower and CEC
Fostering community in the workplace is essential to establishing the right environment for collaboration and innovation. Yet traditional corporate offices can often feel sterile and cold, hindering the ability to connect. To humanize the workplace, NBBJ’s Lighting Studio worked with F5, a leading technology company that builds software for top corporations running public cloud infrastructure, to provide an integrated lighting strategy that welcomes and delights staff and customers across its entire office tower, including its customer briefing center—an environment that helps F5 build client relationships.
As F5 consolidated their former offices from a series of four-story buildings on Elliot Bay to a single high rise in downtown Seattle, the lighting team deployed a unique lighting scheme throughout both the CEC and workplaces—from the lobby and conference rooms to the lounges and main stair—to create new experience that engage, uplift and connect staff and guests. All lighting in the project is LED and dimmable for both user flexibility and environmental stewardship.
Features
In the CEC, the space’s gently curved forms are revealed via soft, indirect lighting coves to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for F5 customers. Encouraging F5 clients to explore the technology on display, lighting gently emanates through colored glass, while small ceiling recessed downlights illuminate spaces below and minimize glare on the video wall projections and display monitors.
