NBBJ’s Design of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Campus in Seattle is Featured in Architectural Record
Leading its building-type section on corporate offices, ArchRecord describes the design of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation campus as rethinking headquarters for charitable organizations. The article covers the transparent nature of the campus, as well as its many sustainability features that helped it achieve LEED Platinum certification. According to journalist Clifford A. Pearson: "Forty-four years ago, Kevin Roche built the iconic Ford Foundation in New York around a hushed indoor garden. NBBJ has updated that model, wrapping the Gates complex around a lively outdoor plaza and greening its roofs."
