Thanks to pro bono design expertise from NBBJ, the Nature Conservancy in Ohio is revitalizing its premiere center for environmental education in northeastern Ohio.

The Grand River Conservation Campus in Ashtabula County, Ohio, teaches visitors of all ages about the ecology and inhabitants of the Morgan Swamp Preserve and the Grand River — and about the importance of local and global conservation.

The Nature Conservancy partnered with NBBJ to develop a light-handed master plan that would draw visitors to the Grand River campus by expanding programs and destinations, in addition to reconfiguring drives for improved pedestrian and vehicular navigation.

NBBJ also provided conceptual design for a renovated nature center and surrounding plazas and landscaping. With the essence of the local ecology captured and incorporated into the design and educational exhibits, the center will provide a much needed catalyst for environmental awareness in the region.
