Getting to
the Point

NBBJ’s plan for the largest remaining land parcel in the City of Cambridge brings vibrancy and energy to East Cambridge.

NBBJ was retained to develop a 40-acre master plan for five million square feet of mixed-use development on the eastern edge of Kendall Square in Cambridge, home of some of the most dynamic biotechnology and technology companies in the nation. The site is slated for a new light rail transit station and is within a five-minute walk of another commuter station serving downtown Boston and numerous communities to the north and south of the city.

The program consists of an equal split of residential and office/laboratory space and a retail core with urban style grocery and a hotel surrounding an urban plaza. The site features a five-acre open space park that serves as the storm-water treatment facility to allow discharge into the Charles River after treatment and storage in a two-acre wetland feature.

The developer has completed the open space and storm water park and 300 units of housing, with an additional 350 units in design development.
