Places for
People and Pups

To reflect the company’s unique business and culture, BARK built a workplace where people and pups thrive alongside each other.

With a rapidly growing customer service “Happy Team,” dog product company BARK enlisted NBBJ to design its new tenant space at Columbus’ newest mixed-use development, Gravity. Designed to withstand dirty paws and unplanned accidents, BARK’s office houses themed conference rooms, workspaces and commemorative toy-lined walls that foster an authentic and engaging workplace.

“Amenity bars” placed throughout the office help to break up workstations into smaller-scaled neighborhoods. Each bar offers cozy nooks, fun pup peek-a-boos, accessible power, hooks for storage and built-in water bowls. These spaces accommodate alternative modes of work, while wipe-able upholstered cushions offer a comfy spot for all occupants to curl up and plug in for a good day at work. In addition, a large hosting café greets employees and their guests, while serving as a community event space for customers and their pups.

The personality of the brand is on full display, from the expressive dog art to the dog-leash banquette cushion holders. A relaxed environment embodies the culture of its people, dogs, and brand — allowing the BARK team to be “at their best,” all while having fun.

“ We typically have 20 to 30 dogs in our office daily, so when planning out our new space, it was important for us to consider things from a dog’s perspective first, and then incorporate those things in a way that made sense. ”
