Timothy Johnson oversees NBBJ's international commercial design practice. An internationally renowned expert in high-rise design, he recently served as Chairman of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) and has been interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, the BBC, Bloomberg News and the Fox Business Network, among other business and design media, on the subject of urban density and transformation in Asia. He frequently speaks at universities and industry events as well.
He also is considered an expert in leveraging high-rise design as a business strategy. This is most evident in The Sail @ Marina Bay, which, as the world's 10th tallest residential building upon completion, became a signature element of the Singapore skyline and was a huge commercial success, with all units sold at record prices prior to construction.
