A leader of NBBJ’s Corporate Practice, Ryan is an architect focused on the intersection of human behavior and physical space. He has led the design of numerous award-winning projects, including major headquarters and offices for Google, Starbucks, Amazon, Brooks Running and Bungie. His work is driven by a curiosity for the evolving workplace, linking original research with creative design thinking and organizational culture to deliver unique workplace environments.
As a dedicated believer in transdisciplinary innovation, Ryan has collaborated with several academic institutions and guides NBBJ’s Fellowship Program with Dr. John Medina, a molecular biologist at the University of Washington. Ryan has helped spearhead award-winning research partnerships focused on neuroscience, acoustics and creativity that have helped NBBJ understand how design can improve human health and performance.
Ryan is also passionate about finding opportunities for design to improve communities. As a member of NBBJ’s Philanthropy Committee, he has worked with multiple non-profit organizations like Hugo House and Gage Academy of Art to help them realize spaces and experiences that expand their impact.
