Lara Macklin, LEED AP, NCIDQ

Lara Macklin is a healthcare programmer, planner and interior designer. Over the last 20 years, she's designed a broad range of healthcare spaces with an emphasis on environments for children and families. Her clients include healthcare systems and corporations, such as Swedish Medical Center, the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children and Women’s Hospital, Microsoft, Miami Children’s Hospital, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Google and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

As an associate member of the Child Life Council, Lara has a deep understanding of how the built environment influences the care of children and the people who support them. Lara is a frequent contributor to Children’s Hospitals Today (the publication of the Children’s Hospital Association) and Healthcare Design. Outside of work, she volunteers for the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation.
