Jose Sama is a lead design principal in NBBJ's healthcare design practice. With over 25 years of experience, Jose believes that creativity in healthcare design is dependent on a holistic and integrated design approach. Jose leads teams in creating transformative and progressive designs that advance a client's mission by providing safe, patient-centered environments. His worked has been recognized by Modern Healthcare, Healthcare Design and the Seattle Chapter of the AIA. In addition, Jose is the recipient of the prestigious Rotch Travelling Scholarship, and served as a visiting critic at MIT, the University of Washington, the University of Florida and the University of South Florida.
