Arnold Lee is design director in NBBJ’s New York office, with more than twenty years of experience leading commercial mixed-use, transportation, institutional, and healthcare projects domestic and internationally. He approaches design as an opportunity to integrate people with nature and urbanism, with a minimal yet expressive design aesthetic. His projects exhibit a tactile expression, lightness and transparency characteristic of efficient structural systems and advanced, high-performance enclosures.
Arnold has lectured on design, transportation and urbanism at the AIA California Council, the California Club in Los Angeles and US High Speed Rail Association, as well as on facades and enclosure systems at the University of Southern California and numerous Facades+ conferences. He has also served as an instructor and guest critic at MIT, Harvard and Berkeley. His projects have received awards from AIA chapters in New York and California and World Architecture News, and have been published in Architectural Record, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Los Angeles Times.
