We Embrace and Empower Meaningful Change

NBBJ is a different kind of design practice, one that helps our clients drive innovation by creating highly productive, sustainable spaces that free people to live, learn, work and play as they were meant to.

The world’s leading organizations look to our experts to help them design environments that disrupt the status quo and effect real, meaningful change at all levels. Named among the top 10 most innovative architecture firms by Fast Company two years in a row, we make news by partnering with like-minded companies including Google, Amazon, Samsung, Microsoft and Tencent. Our clients also include institutional leaders such as Cambridge University, Cleveland Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital, NYU Medical Center and Stanford University.

  • Sustainable

We were early adopters of the Architecture 2030 challenge. We designed the world’s largest LEED platinum non-profit building, Japan’s first LEED Gold office, and along with our partners received a $1.2 million Department of Energy grant to study ways to reduce hospital energy use.
  • Highly Responsive

In 2010, we launched the Change Design Lab to take our full-scale rapid prototyping on the road. Recent ports of call include Christchurch, New Zealand; Baltimore, Maryland; and Mountain View, California.

Our Ideas Have Impact. Our Work Works.

Like other firms, we apply the latest science and research to make our buildings stronger, more sustainable and more efficient. But we dig deeper to understand how the spaces we design will impact human behavior. Our people-centered, holistic process empowers us to understand, envision and design solutions that create meaning and value.

We gather all perspectives and consider every angle. This depth of understanding allows us to deliver the right solutions to the right problems, so our clients arrive prepared to unleash their full potential from their very first day on site.

We take the abstract — what is ideal — and make it real.
